Turn That Frown Upside Down No Blue Monday

Apparently today, Monday January 15, 2018, is the saddest day of the year. Welcome to Blue Monday. They say Blue Monday falls on the third Monday of January and it's the most depressing day of the year. (Here's a great article that explains where the coin phrase came from.)

But, what I want to know is, when did we let other's decide how we should feel. Don't you think if we call today Blue Monday we're encouraging others to feel sad? So instead, we're turning today into Happy Monday with some tips on how to be happy and inspiring quotes to help you feel better.

We all know that happiness comes from within. But it's a matter of finding that place sometimes. Scientifically speaking they tell us that you can find your way to happy by exercising more, sleeping more, and spend time with family and friends. Not always easy to fit all of those into your routine. They also say that one way to finding your happy is to smile! Now that's something we can all do.

According to the experts smiling not only makes you look happy it actually makes your brain happy.
When you smile they say it activates messages to your brain that improve your health and your happiness. There's a great article in Psychology Today that explains the science behind smiling for your health HERE.

The more you smile the more your brain is convinced you're happy. Try it.

For me to be happy, I just have to talk to the lovely Lisa "Longball" Vlooswyk. She's the reigning 8-time Canadian Long Drive Champion for women. She placed top 5 a the 2016 world Long drive Championships. she is an LDA Tour Champion and a Calaway Golf Sponsored athlete. And recently connected with Golf Town to do free lessons across Canada.

But, Lisa is also one of the most motivational speakers I've ever seen. Her personality is infectious and you leave Lisa happy. Her talk is called Drive Determines Distance. I asked Lisa to tell me her favourite happy and motivational quote. She told me Thomas Edison said, "Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up."
