Losing a child through miscarriage, still birth or neonatal death can be tough journey. The Tiny Footprints Gala is looking to help support those families in Calgary and surrounding areas who have had to cope with pregnancy or infant loss.

Last years event raised over $100,000 which went towards programs such as education videos for families and much needed miscarriage kits for all the emergency departments throughout Calgary. More importantly, it succeeded in creating a safe space to honour and celebrate the precious lives that have forever left footprints in our hearts.

Katie and Matt Stajan know this story all to well, having lost their son in 2014 after childbirth. Today, 2017 the Stajan's are working towards keeping his legacy alive by working together with The Tiny Footprints committee. After their loss they were fortunate enough to get pregnant shortly after and now have 2 1/2 year old Elliot.

Katie will be the emcee for this year's Tiny Footprints Gala at Telus Spark October 14, 2017. Christina Rowsell had the opportunity to talk to Katie. Listen to the interview HERE.

You can purchase tickets from the Calgary Health Trust by visiting www.calgaryhealthtrust.ca/tinyfootprints. All proceeds will go to the pregnancy and infant loss programs of Alberta Health Services.
