We all know there's a guilt when we throw out our leftovers. Close to half of the food produced worldwide is wasted. Something needs to be done! Something is being done!
Leftovers Calgary is an organization that rescues food from being thrown in the garbage and ensures it gets to service agencies in need. Lourdes Juan from Leftovers Calgary says, "The food is surplus, or excess food from local suppliers like grocery stores, restaurants and vendors."

In an attempt to show that it can be done and you can feed plenty of people leftovers they had a successful event in downtown Calgary that offered a free lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m and fed over 6700 people. Listen to the interview with Lordes Juan here.
