Top 3 Things You Can Do to Brighten Up Your LIFE: How To Be Happier With Your Life

Be Kind To Yourself!

If you don’t look after YOU, no one will.  You are in charge of how you feel at the beginning of the day and if your day starts with negative thoughts, the rest of your day will snowball.  Once you grasp on taking care of yourself and reminding yourself that you are worth kind words and loving thoughts, you can then spread the love!  If you start your day on a positive note, chances are that the rest of your day will be filled with great intentions.

I’ll share a secret with you, something that puts me in a good mood the moment I wake up.  I bought pj’s that say B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L!  And when I wake up in the morning and see myself in the mirror I giggle as I read BEAUTIFUL in my head.  By putting that ONE word in my head, I already feel better about my day.  I’m not saying you should go out and buy pj’s that say HOT, STUD or even GORGEOUS.  But it wouldn’t hurt!  If not on your pj’s, type it up and stick it to your mirror!!  Give it a try.  Give yourself the LOVE you deserve.

Here's a link to a GREAT website that is all about you looking GORGEOUS click HERE.

Share The Love!

Treat others as you’d like to be treated:  Once you’ve taken care of yourself, you can take care of others.  Smile, you might just brighten someone elses day.  Happiness is contagious.  Not only for the person receiving the happiness, but it’ll remind you to be happy.   In fact research has proven that smiling actually makes you happier than you were before!  Your own smile may just lift your own spirits!

I’ve been a radio announcer for 22 years now, and people are always asking me how I always sound so happy?  The secret is, I HAVE to be happy.  No one wants to hear a grumpy announcer.  And through the tough days, (yes I have tough days) I’m forced to put on a smile.  But along the way I always seem to cheer myself up, while cheering everyone else up.  I make a joke that it’s my job to “poop rainbows”.  But in actual fact, it’s true.  I’m here to put a smile on your face.  I’m there to make you laugh, and smile and forget about your problems.  And I always catch myself smiling and laughing too.  Even on those days that are weighing heavy on me.  It works!  Make someone else laugh, and you’ll instantly find your own spirits lifted!

Be Grateful For What You DO Have!

An attitude of gratitude creates blessings.  You can find the simplest things to be grateful for.  This will put your life into perspective.  Be thankful for your family, friends or your health.  If that has you down, be thankful for your ability to read, or write or walk.   If you’re still not able to lift your own spirits find someone who can remind you of all the GREAT things in your life.  Be sure to surround yourself with people who know how to lift your spirits and guide you to the things that are good in your life.  Or, keep a list handy of all the things that make you happy.  Post them around your house, in your car or even at work.  Find that one thing that makes you smile.  Maybe it’s the sound of a kitten purring.  Or maybe it’s the smell of cookies!  Find your trigger and be grateful for what you do have in your life.
