When it comes to coping with stress we often think of what we can do to reduce the stress. We will try to find the root of the stress and try to manage it. Easier said than done right?. Sounds simple, but in actually fact the stress of coping with stress can be just as stressful.
We're all so very busy with our every day lives. And when you factor in taking care of others in our lives we often forget about taking care of our own needs. Perhaps the "cure" for stress is as easy as listening to sounds that ease our minds. Whether is a simple sound or just music. Music can help you to relax, focus more so work is easier or manage stress.
And finding the right sounds that make you feel good can make your work easier and manage stress.

Sound Wellness encourages you to also explore your voice - the most powerful healing tool you have. Your voice is created inside of you and resonates every cell in your body with every sound that you make. Feel the effect of your own voice as it creates an instant response in your being. Tune your entire being and connect with infinite possibility as you explore your voice deeper.
Sound Wellness has some beautiful examples of finding the right sounds for you.
For me, I'm a sucker for nature. Anything to do with water seems to help me breath easier. It calms my mind and brings me to a place of peace.
The
low sounds of the water calm the nervous system, slows down your
heartbeat lowering blood pressure, slows down your breathing and creates
a shift in brainwave state to the alpha state. A calming relaxation
response.
In
1998, 3 scientists made a discovery which changed medicine. Their
research showed that our cells produce and release nitric oxide. This
was so important that they won the Nobel Prize in Medicine. One of the
sounds that stimulated cells to release nitric oxide was the perfect 5th
tuning forks. The same ones on the next track. In fact, they found that
it took only 30 seconds of listening to the sound of the tuning forks
to stimulate the nitric oxide cycle in their subjects.

Everyone experiences sounds and music differently. It affects us physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. When you listen to sounds, try listening from the inside out and see how you react to it. See how it makes you feel physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Where do you feel the music in your body? Spiritually, you'll find that the music captures you, gives you joy, peace and compassion. How does it make you feel? Listen to the responses your body creates - does it make your muscles tense or does it relax them?

Bird Song and Water

In addition to the relaxation, the
birdsong consists of high sounds. You never know when a bird is going to
sing – they’re totally unpredictable. Your brain loves patterns and
constantly looks for them. But the brain can’t find any patterns in
birdsong.
The result is the brain becomes alert, focused and productive at the same time your body is relaxed.
This is a great sound to have in the background when you need to stay focused while you remain relaxed.

- Bacteria and viruses are destroyed at a micro level enhancing our immune system and increasing our ability to prevent and fight infection.
- Our resistance to stress is increased, as is our energy and stamina.
- Nitric oxide balances the autonomic nervous system, sharpening mental clarity and diminishing states of depression.
- Our digestion is improved and natural cleansing is enhanced.

And what The Brighter Side loves is that a portion of the funds generated through the memberships will be divided among some of Sound Wellness' favourite charities including:
The Mustard Seed who do amazing work with the homeless. We appreciate this organization not for just helping the homeless, as much as the way in which they do. They truly offer a hand-up, offering not only emergency services in the form of shelters and so on, but run awesome training programs as well.
HandiBus is an organization that operates in centers across Canada. We became acquainted with them when my (Ed's) Mom had a stoke in 2006 and was confined to a wheelchair. Since then, one of her few joys came from getting out, and the only feasible way of accomplishing that, was with the Handi-Bus. For a minimal charge Mom could get a ride to her doctor, to get her hearing aids adjusted, or just to get a Timmy's coffee and donut. It was her connection to the rest of the world, and the efficiency and care exhibited by the drivers, the dispatchers, and the organization in general was truly outstanding.
